Total admiration mixed with commitment phobia leads to (self)destruction. Intelligent relationship drama that is moving and relatable, and beautifully acted by Kingsley, Cruz and Hopper.
A "cunning plan" and a blue filter on the camera does not a thriller make. The story is very predictable, which kind of defeats the purpose of a thriller.
When making this movie the most thought went into the incredible stunts and visuals, but not into the story. A thrilling rollercoaster ride, though, that is amazing to watch.
Although it has its moments and is told in a nice slow pace, this family drama drowns in sentimentality which prevents it from hitting the right note.
