I never realised how immobilising nicotine works on the brain. I saw a man sitting outside today, enjoying the sunshine. As I saw him sitting there I wondered: “How does he enjoy the sunshine without smoking a cigarette?” It is becoming painfully clear to me, now I’ve quit smoking, that nicotine supercedes any experience of pleasure that could ever be delivered to your brain. Once released from it’s captive grip I feel confident that new experiences that do not involve cigarettes will be allowed to tickle my mind’s pleasure centre.
